Principal 

Eastside Christian School is seeking a passionate, dedicated Principal who is a strong follower of Jesus Christ, who is committed to maintaining high academic standards, and who wants to work in a supportive and close-knit small-school community in Bellevue, Washington.  The Principal is expected to embrace and uphold our Statement of Faith, fostering a culture that reflects our core values and beliefs, and promoting a positive environment for all.

Essential Functions of This Position:

LEADERSHIP

  • Exhibit a servant-leadership style that models and promotes integrity, transparency, collegiality, and support of the students, parents, staff and school board
  • Cultivate a collaborative learning environment among teachers, staff, students, and parents through effective communications, teamwork, and a positive school climate
  • Communicate and collaborate with the Parent Teacher Fellowship (PTF)
  • Supervise school faculty and staff, promoting adherence to ECS’s vision and mission
  • Provide instructional leadership in building and growing an effective academic program to improve student learning and promote faith
  • Monitor and adjust the academic program and curriculum to promote high expectations, performance, and achievements from students and staff
  • Develop and implement professional development for teachers and support staff
  • Oversee the communication of student progress to parents
  • Demonstrate an effective student discipline management program that focuses on developing the whole child: body, mind, soul and spirit
  • Promote a culture of individualized learning for each student to distinguish ECS for academic excellence. This includes developing tailored improvement plans that address the unique needs and strengths of each student, ensuring they receive the support necessary to achieve their full potential
  • Provide leadership in the recruitment and selection, placement, supervision, and evaluation of all school personnel
  • Curate and support school activities that enrich and enhance the culture of our ECS Community
  • Oversee and assist in the continued development and management of emergency plan
  • Ensure conformance and compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations

DEVELOPMENT

  • Effectively communicate the ECS mission, vision, and story to staff, students, parents, and all donors
  • Develop and implement an annual plan to meet strategic advancement goals
  • In conjunction with the School Board, identify and build relationships in the community by maintaining contact with current partners and seeking new partnerships with churches, foundations, and corporations
  • Serve as the school’s representative to the community, educational associations, Christian leader organizations, media, and donors
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationship with current and prospective donors, including alumni students and families
  • Use donation and enrollment data to analyze trends and strategize fundraising goals
  • Oversee and support fundraising efforts with the ECS Board, PTF Board, volunteers, and event coordinators
  • Promote a culture of philanthropy and generosity at all levels of the organization

 ADMISSIONS

  • Oversee the Director of Admissions in developing and implementing the plan to meet annual admission goals
  • Collaborate with the Director of Admissions to increase student applicants through recruitment, advertising, and school visibility
  • Develop and implement a multi-year plan to strategically manage enrollment and future growth
  • Ensure collaboration across all departments to achieve admissions goals

MARKETING

  • Oversee the Marketing Manager on strategic communication goals to promote and expand the visibility of ECS in our community and potential new families
  • Collaborate with the Marketing Manager to meet school communication needs, including community news updates and customer surveys
  • Promote consistent messaging to all ECS stakeholders and school community
  • Monitor alumni and parent communications
  • Ensure ECS brand standards across all touchpoints (web, email, print, social, etc.)
  • Oversee and collaborate with administrative team on all functions related to school marketing, including public relations, publications, media relations, social media, and advertising
  • Ensure the creation and maintenance of the alumni database and communications

 FINANCE

  • Collaborate with the Director of Finance to oversee all financial aspects of ECS, including accounting policies, financial and tax reporting, internal controls, budgeting, financial modeling, investment management, banking relationships, evaluation of employee benefits, insurance management
  • Oversee the development of the annual school budget

 ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage, evaluate, and collaborate with Marketing Manager, Director of Admissions, Director of Finance, Deans and Auction Coordinator
  • Create and execute a strategic plan and provide monthly updates to the School Board and key stakeholders
  • Keep the School Board apprised of school happenings
  • Perform other duties related to specific assignments as directed by the School Board

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or Doctorate from an accredited university or college, in Educational Administration preferred or Teacher Certification Program
  • Valid/Current WA State Residency Principal Certificate (certification from another state is acceptable while actively working towards a WA State Certification)
  • Successful Educational Administration experience and effective work with preschool, elementary and middle school age students preferred and/or successful teaching experienced accepted
  • Valid/Current First Aid and CPR Certification (we can help you attain this)
  • Clearance from Criminal Justice fingerprint/Background Clearance

Middle School English Teacher

The Role
We seek a passionate, dedicated Middle School English Teacher who is a devoted follower of Jesus Christ. This role is an opportunity to inspire 6th-8th graders to love literature, writing, and critical thinking while deepening their faith through learning. • Inspire Through Faith and Learning: Guide students to see English as a lens for understanding God’s world, connecting literature and writing to their spiritual growth.

• Personalize Instruction: Use varied assessments to meet diverse student needs, ensuring every learner thrives academically and personally.
• Foster a Safe, Loving Classroom: Maintain order through clear routines and create a welcoming environment where students feel valued and supported.
• Collaborate and Grow: Partner with parents, caregivers, and colleagues to support student success. Attend staff meetings and pursue professional growth through workshops, conferences, or relevant research.
• Leverage Technology: Integrate digital tools wisely to enhance instruction and engage students at all levels.
• Contribute to Community: Participate in school projects, events, and initiatives, embodying ECS’s mission as an active team member.

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in education, English, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
• Valid WA State Teaching Certificate with appropriate endorsements (or certification from another state with active progress toward WA certification).
• Proven experience teaching middle school students, ideally in a Christian or independent school setting.
• Strong personal commitment to Jesus Christ, reflected in words and actions.
• Valid First Aid and CPR certification (training provided if needed).

Preschool Aide

Description
We are looking for part-time and substitute Preschool Aides to assist our Lead Teachers, for our Half-Day and Full-Day Preschool program. Contact us for information as to the days and hours, as we have a variety of options. We offer a tuition discount for staff descendants to attend our school and you may also utilize our aftercare program at no charge on the days that you are working for ECS.

Requirements (to be completed before employment begins)
• Valid/Current First Aid and CPR Certification (training reimbursed by ECS)
• DEL (Department of Early Learning) background check (fees reimbursed by ECS)
• 30 hour STARS Basic Training Class (training reimbursed by ECS)
• An up-to-date Tuberculosis skin test (fees reimbursed by ECS)
• Preferred: AA degree in Early Education, CDA, or a related field such as Child Development

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Knowledge and practice of effective behavior/classroom management techniques
• Develop, follow and practice rules and procedures for student safety as described in the WAC
• Knowledge and practice of effective communication with students, parents, and staff
• Maintain positive relationships with students, parents, staff and administration
• Ability to safely use basic office machinery/equipment, or ability to learn
• Ability to comfortably learn our child sign-in software on a laptop or desktop computer
• Ability and commitment to work with students in a Christ-honoring manner
• Ability to administer First Aid and CPR if necessary

Spiritual State
All Eastside Christian Staff must have received Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. He or she will be a regular attendee or member in good standing of a Bible-believing church and shall lead a life that portrays a believer in Christ, walking in the Spirit in response to God. He or she shall be a person of spiritual maturity who is seen as a leader and a role model, and who is able to articulate the precepts of the Christian faith clearly and effectively. Ephesians 5:1-21 provides an excellent guideline for behavior for Christians.

Salary: $21.00 /hour
