Elementary School

At Eastside Christian School, our Kindergarten–5th grade program is designed to cultivate confident learners, strong character, and a lifelong love of learning. We believe academic excellence means more than helping students earn good grades—it means equipping them to think deeply, solve problems confidently, communicate clearly, and grow into young people who are prepared to thrive both in school and in life.

Our elementary program combines high academic expectations with caring teachers who know each child personally. Through engaging instruction, meaningful feedback, and differentiated support, students are challenged to reach their full potential while receiving the encouragement they need to succeed.

Students build a strong foundation in reading, writing, mathematics, science, Bible, and social studies while also enjoying weekly instruction in art, music, physical education, computer science, and Spanish. Small class sizes allow teachers to know each student well and personalize instruction through differentiated learning. Throughout the school year, flexible reading groups are thoughtfully formed and adjusted to help students strengthen foundational skills, build confidence, and continue progressing at an appropriate pace. Likewise, mathematics instruction is designed to challenge students at their individual readiness levels, ensuring every learner is both supported and encouraged to grow.

As students enter our upper elementary years (Grades 3–5), they are encouraged to think more independently, take greater ownership of their learning, and engage with increasingly complex concepts across every subject. Students who demonstrate advanced mathematical readiness may qualify for our differentiated, mixed-grade mathematics program, where instruction is tailored to help them continue growing at an appropriate pace. Beyond the classroom, students can further extend their learning through STEM projects, ACSI academic competitions, the Principal’s Challenge program, our annual Science Fair, and other enriching experiences that encourage innovation, curiosity, and real-world problem solving. At Eastside Christian School, we believe students grow best when they are both supported and challenged. Our teachers intentionally create learning experiences that strengthen foundational skills while encouraging critical thinking, collaboration, creativity, and effective communication. Students learn to ask thoughtful questions, explain their reasoning, persevere through challenges, and celebrate the progress that comes from consistent effort.

As a private Christian school, we are uniquely positioned to educate the whole child. Alongside academic excellence, we intentionally nurture each student’s character, faith, and relationship with Christ, helping children develop wisdom, compassion, integrity, and a biblical worldview that shapes every area of life.

Our partnership with families is another defining strength of the ECS experience. We believe children flourish when parents and teachers work together with shared purpose. Open communication, mutual trust, and meaningful family involvement create a supportive community where every child is known, encouraged, and inspired to grow.
