I have been volunteering with middle school students at my church since 2003. I stay active in short-term mission trips, both as a participant and as a leader for youth. I graduated with specializations in Family Studies, Latin American Studies, Teaching English as a Second Language, and Spanish. I enjoy the arts and love bringing them into the classroom.

I have been at ECS for many years and have grown to love the amazing families and staff that God has brought to this special school. I love music, painting, kick boxing, hiking, beaches, and my DAILY dose of dark (75%) chocolate. My daughter has been attending ECS since pre-K and is “excited about learning and recess.”

I am so excited to join ECS. I am originally from Oregon and moved here with my husband, James, in 1987. I have two grown children. For the last 18 years, I have been involved in Christian education as a teacher and administrator. I have taught preschool through 6th grade. My favorite part of teaching is watching the students grow and learn new things. Their excitement when they discover a new concept brings joy to my heart. It gives me a small glimpse at how the Lord must feel when we as Christians accomplish His works.

All three of my children attended Christian school during parts of their education.  Our family moved from California to Washington five years ago when my husband was called as a pastor to Crossroads Bible Church.  In my spare time, I enjoy reading, gardening, home decorating, spending time with friends, serving in my church, and showing hospitality in my home.

I am so blessed to be at ECS. After working here as an aide, I knew this was where the Lord was leading me to teach. I received my BA in Language Arts and Elementary Education from SPU and taught all-day Kindergarten/pre-first for 4.5 years. For 14+ years I worked as an educational consultant to homeschooling families with children ranging from preschool through 6th. This experience gave me a great appreciation for parents and their desire to come alongside their children’s education. I have an amazing husband and two awesome grown children and am excited to share my love of learning and my love for the Lord with the students at ECS. My favorite activities include scrapbooking, boating, and doing just about anything with my family.
